Dr. Chiu-Yi Hsu is a prominent figure in Taiwan’s contemporary art and fashion scene, recognized by the Ministry of Culture as one of the 16 most influential designers since the 1980s. A Ph.D. graduate from the National Taiwan University of Arts and an alumna of ENSAD in Paris, she made history as the first Chinese winner of Europe’s prestigious "Golden Thread Award" in 1994. Her work seamlessly integrates the fluidity of painting with the structural precision of garment craftsmanship. Beyond her acclaimed showcases in Paris, New York, and Tokyo, Dr. Hsu is a dedicated advocate for "Social Design," focusing on community aesthetics and sustainable fashion. Currently, she serves as an Associate Professor at Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology and continues to explore the "spiritual window" between the human body and everyday life through her interdisciplinary practice.
